“Hinkle Construction Services, LLC Wins Competitive Bid for Epperson Waste Disposal Project”
On January 7, 2016 Hinkle Construction Services, LLC (HCS) was awarded the Republic Services, LLC dba Epperson Waste Disposal Final Capping of Areas of Phases 2 and 3 project. HCS offered the best of seven bids in a competitive selection process.
Epperson Waste serves the northern Kentucky/Cincinnati market area and is one of seven landfills in the state operated by Republic Services.
The Final Capping project will include the installation of the final cap components on approximately 12 acres of Phases 2 and 3. Specific work details include: re-grading the existing soil cover, installing a flexible membrane liner system, and placing 3 feet vegetative soil and topsoil.
HCS Project Manager Chip Simmons will lead the project. “Work is scheduled to begin in May, 2016, with completion anticipated no later than October, 2016,” Simmons said. “As capping proceeds, it will be imperative to coordinate with the site’s operational staff to insure the gas collection system is not adversely impacted. Coordination between the owner, contractor and subs will be critical.”
At completion of the project, roughly 50 percent of the landfill will be under cap.
